The Backstory Media started with a simple observation: too many brands were busy creating content, running campaigns, and chasing trends — without a clear strategy behind any of it.

The Backstory Media was founded in Meerut by Shourabh Tomar. At 25, with a secure government job on the table, he chose to build something of his own instead.

His work grew from graphic design and filmmaking into branding, performance marketing and websites, including creative production for the Khelo India Tribal Games. With no investors and no big team, freelance projects turned into long-term partnerships, and those partnerships became The Backstory Media.

We’re built on one idea: behind every brand, there’s a backstory. Our job is to find it, tell it well, and turn it into growth.

We wanted to build something different.

A consultancy where strategy comes before execution, where every creative has a purpose, and where marketing is measured by what it actually does for the business — not just how good it looks.
